Default About me

I started running about a year ago and I am really enjoying it. I have been married for almost 15 years and have 2 beautiful children that keep me busy and laughing all the time. I started running to loose weight and get in shape, I continue to do it becasue I feel great and am very proud of what I have accomplished. I am looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say about running and learning new things.

Default From the Florida Panhandle

I started running a year and a half ago and finally found the one thing I want to stick with for the rest of my life! Since I have started running, I have read everything I can about it....and have shared my enthusiasm with whoever was kind enough to listen! I have completed about 18 races...mostly 5K's and 2 half marathons...a crazy friend of mine made an off the wall comment and said "Let's run a marathon!" and this was before I even got started... I actually took her seriously...little did I know she was exaggerating!! So this year....by golly..I am gonna do a MARATHON!! I am a 5th grade math and science teacher, I am married ...11 years thus far...have FOUR children which includes a stepdaughter. I run for STRESS relief, for endorphins, for fitness, for fun, for opportunities to take trips, to set a good example for my children, and for time spent with friends! I run because I love it! I hope to see a running revolution in our country so that more people will leave their couches behind and rediscover what we once loved naturally as kids...Runners Rule..yep!

Wink Hi!

My name is Jenny, I am 43, and I have been running for a few years but not competing in any races or really setting any goals. My husband is my motivator because he is a running machine and when I grow up, I want to be like him
I have two wonderful children, ages 11 and 14, who are proving to be great runners. My son started out-pacing me last year and that's when I decided that I need to set some goals for myself. This is the year that I want to try something different. We use our RV to travel during the summer so I think it will be nice to find some races in beautiful parts of the country to run in.
Thanks for the forum because I am always looking for great places to run and ways to improve myself.
Thanks!

if you would like us to make you little picture that shows up next to your name when you make a post just private message admin with a short description of what you would want, we like to make those for our members, makes our forum stand out a little from the rest.

Hi, i've been popping around the forum a bit today and this looks like a nice friendly place.

I'm about 4 hrs south down the highway from timcook. Hi northernly neighbor.

I mostly run the races sponsored by my running club, so stick to local races, but have travelled around a bit for some larger races - like HM's or the one and only marathon I've done so far in Seattle last summer. I have also been on a Ragnar Relay team and plan to do another relay this summer. I'm also registered for my 2nd marathon, this coming June. I've been a runner about 3 yrs now.

Looking forward to getting to know others here.

Welcome, Im glad you noticed we try to keep it positive and I appreciate all your postings, thanks!

If you look a lot of forums usually the most viewed section is the off topic and its mostly people on endless debates about subjects not at all related to the forum. then it turns into name calling, personal attacks and so on.

this board is to help runners of every level and about working together, more of "team" type theme. Lets work together to help everyone out and encourage all. Like I often tell me wife when we see a runner while we driving, "i've never seen a runner that i didnt like"
we are all out doing the same thing, not matter what the pace, and only we understand why we do it.
I think thats pretty cool.
Thanks for registering, enjoy your stay. if you need a cool pic for next to your username let me know, i make them for anyone who asks, just give me a general idea. Ive been getting asked if I charge for them, and the answer is absolutely not, never. I enjoy making them. private message me if you want one.
