Hello all,

I'm Mike from NJ and started running in April, '09 to lose weight. Well, over 650 miles and 60 lbs lost, I'm addicted. Still want to lose more, but I'm happy with where I am now. Currently training for the Philadelphia marathon in November, but have been on the DL for 2 weeks with an Achilles issue. I'm a barefoot/minimalist runner (I run in Vibram FiveFingers) that uses the ChiRunning method. I like gadgets (GPS, compression, lights, hydration packs) and I ran my first trail last weekend. The furthest I've run in the past year is 15 miles, but I hope to one day get into ultras! Feel free to contact me if you'd like!

Go Run!

Default Intermittent Runner

Hello, all.

I am new to the forum, but have been a fan of RR on FB for a while. I have to admit I do not run consistently, but I do run. I am currently out of shape but signed up for the Hocking Hills Indian Run 5k, which is in about a month. I have done the Indian Run before in 2008, and look to better my time from that. I have the 'know how', I just need the motivation. After reading some of the threads on here, I feel some motivation starting to swirl around. I look forward to being on here more often to get some tips on how to train for trail running. My running partner (who is also my neighbor) and I LOVE our pink skull shirts. We just hope we don't bring them shame at the Indian Run. LOL. I guess the shirts can be our motivation. I can't wait for the new 'because I can' shirts!!!

Thanks,
Jill

I'm a writer/director. I'm a beginning runner. I have severe asthma, so running is a love/hate thing for me. (I love running, but hate how my lungs are such wimps.)

I'm also a divorced mom to two teens. One with Autism, one with ADHD. I also have ADHD.

I ran my first 5K at the Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 5K/10K this year. I wish I didn't have to stop and walk during it. My biggest goal is to run 3 miles without having to stop and walk in between. *sigh*

Well, that's enough about me.

Welcome to RR!

What an awesome inspiration you are to others - even despite the asthma, you take it upon yourself to get out there and do what you can. How many people can say that? Keep up the great work!!

My name is Cassie. I'm a new runner, right now I'm in a couch to 5k program with a local park. I run twice a week with them and once a week on my own. This is our 3rd week. Each week we push ourselves a little harder and at the end of our training we will run a 5k on Nov. 6th. I have never been a fan of running/walking/jogging but I can already see a change in my body that I like. I also really enjoy Zumba classes, I would much rather dance for my exercise but I'm really excited to complete my first 5k soon.
