We love you too! Hey you know the ET Midnight run has a 10k with your name written all over it!

Queen of editing. I think the treadmill is way harder on the body. It doesn't feel natural to me. I did a 4 mile run tonight on it. I had to change my shoes a mile in with my Asics Gels as my shins started to ache. It just seems harder on my body to me. I wonder if it is just that are bodys are not meant to run in one place I wish I could always run outside. I am greatful to have tm though for those nights you can't get outside to run or do to weather.

I just looked at the ET website and it looks cool and I should be able to compete and I do have a Vacation in Aug but let me ask you How hot is it in Nevada in AUGEST
I think I could check on this though and it may work out but next year would be a go for sure
I didn't have a problem on the TM at all , I used to set the speed on ten at 6 min pace per mile and run 3 or 4 miles and then turn the speed down every mile after that and do alot of incline stuff but I wore racing flats most of the time..TM is great for winter (not that NV has a winter but in CT we do )and heavy rain days but I do prefer to be outside..
Remember listen to your body always and take a day off every week to rest up..

I know a few that have run this the last few years. At midnight, it's still hot. Like 90, but the fun of it is being out in the middle of nowhere, wearing only a headlamp, some reflective tape or gear, perhaps even a glowstick necklace and watching out for cows!

I totally would love to do it though. It's only a 5.5 hr drive for me.

I actually live in the high desert. Reno. So we do get winter Our winters go as follows. Last Sunday close to 80's. Today well it's snowing. In the winter the snow and Ice sticks around because it's so cold so alot of times I have to run the tm because I don't want to risk injuring myself. But if the roads are good and the wind is tolerable. I will take any day of the week running outside.

I'll check on the heat. It is in August. Hot time of the year. But this is 2 hours from Vegas and I am not familiar with the weather there. I've questioned this same thing. I am guessing it's a night Marathon due to heat. But I will check it out and let you know We need glow in the dark alien tech shirts for this one RR style

Oh thanks for the info Steph. I just seen this. I think I'd have similar driving distance too. I wouldn't be worrying about my time with this. I think it would be just a great fun experience. We should all do this and get Admin to print RR tech glow in the dark shirts with alien designs.....

I want to run ET with glow in the RR glow in the dark tech shirt saying "Alien Face Aileen" with an Alien design. "Aileen" is my middle name.

I think you have to sport the head lamp. They give you the glow in the dark knecklaces. I am going to check the site out again for details.

Ok sorry back to speedwork guys. Maybe if we ran in the dark in UFO territory that may be considered a form of speedwork depending on the fright factor

I get to the track once a week and do 400's. I start with 4 and each week add one more until I'm up to 10 total.
This really gets me faster!

Speedwork for me is either a tempo run once a week OR intervals (distance varies) at the track once a week. Only do it once a week though. It is a toss up over which I like better.

I like the tempo runs because it is "strung together" and once I get in my groove I'm there. But I also like the interval track workouts..reminds me of my HS days!

gosh I hate tempo...evil they are.

tho I love 800's so quick...yes I'll have another thank you very much.

striders rock too...

I do most of my speed on the tm. the garmin is awesome for speedwork. I am not speedy. I actually super duper dislike the 5k. the 10k is the same just twice the pain.

give me long run pain. its different. not better just different. not as lung bleeding.
