3.1 miles.Easy trial run, pain-free throughout. Stretched after, hoping to minimize the soreness after everything relaxes. On the mend! It has been 10 days of pure frustration. Working hard on a comeback.

Key West half marathon and 5k.
Did the 5k. 19:00 flat. 2nd overall. About 200 runners. I think there was 900 in the half.
1st place was in sight the whole time. He went out fast. Was way ahead. I thought no way I could catch him. Then all of a sudden I saw him walking. I thought I was going to catch him. He walked 3 times but had such a huge lead I couldn't reel him in. Almost though. He beat me by 15 seconds. I talked to him later and he told me hes a 17:00 minute 5ker but the last 3 races he's gotten horrible side stitches that he can't run through.

Btw. If anyone is looking for a really well organized warm January race check out he key west half next year. Really cOol race route

Not sure how fast the results will be up. The race was really well organized. They had monitors set up so you could see te results instantly but there was a few chip problems. I think one of the timing mats was turning on and off. They took care of everything right away but I'm sure it going to be a day or so before results are up.

I'm now a believer that "the long run" mixed into a training a schedule at least once every 2 weeks is by far the best greatest builder of endurance you can do. Speed work helps also but i think a person can only improve race time to a point with speed work alone.
I felt great after this race. When Im not Doing long runs I feel like crap after a 5k.
