well we got there early. found a good parking spot.. that was not hard to do.. these events here are very small.. I love them.. no big crowds.. and its very personable. I think there were 70 of us give or take.. anyways.. its 4.95 miles, they blew the horn and we were off.. now.. my usual pace at home in the morning is right around 10.30 very comfy lol so I decided to start with that until I got things warmed up.. you young ones will not know what I am saying.. but anyways.. about a mile and a half in I was feeling good.. so we stepped it up a bit.. we went to about a 9.30.. and left alot of the group I was with behind.. man that dont happen much for me.. but I guess the training was showing up.. we stayed with that pace.. and started passing people.. I see alot of the younger ones that came out of the gate fast now walking.. a few I got to start running again..lol but most just walked.. I looked down at my Garmin and my pace was even faster.. like a 9.15. I thought cool.. didnt even know it.... so here we are into the last mile.. and there are people walking I yell common.. almost there.. you could hear people cheering..now I am really pushing it.. I was at a 8.30 pace... now this rout they had us on really twisted us around.. lol I wasnt sure where the finish line was.. although I knew it was close.. yep.. this is lost talking..lol well we came around one more corner and there it was about a block up.. well I slammed it down..... passed about three people and finished under a 6 pace.. YAHOO!!! MY TIME WAS 47.41.. I know.. not that fast but it was Great for me.. and when I checked my Garmin at home mile two was the only one that wasnt a negative split.. that to me ment everything.. I ended up placing second in my age.. to bad they didnt have a Clydesdale division...lol had a great time and I am really liking the longer runs.. keep rockin folks!!!!!!
