First 5 mile

First five (5) miler today at the Circleville pumpkin show in Ohio. Felt great to finish, but now my knees are telling me not to try that again. I was so proud of me and my running partner. I gave her the "because I can" this morning before the race as a birthday present!!! She loved it, and we ran the whole race, didn't walk once!

Time 61:29-now we have a goal for next year.

5 miles one of "the marks" for me when i started running. the first was to run 5k without stopping. i remember the first time i ran 5 miles. it felt great. its a big accoomplishment, i felt like "5 miles... thats pretty far im only a mile and 2 tenths away from a 10k, i know i could do that and if i can do that im pretty sure with some more training i could run 10 miles..... which isnt too far off from a half marathon.. and so on and so on and so on. .

nice work on the 5 miler, ice your knees, stretch out and be proud of yourself
