In 2007 I trained for an October marathon and had to train through the heat. Unfortunately getting up early is about the only option. I trust you have a hydration belt right? If not I highly recommend it. Do you have access to a treadmill? It sucks an is boring but a few days a week on that keeps you inside. Not sure if you are training for anything but if not, maybe do your runs at 5AM or 5:30AM few days a week. Early yes but if only for an hour or so it's not as hot at that time of the day. I just did a marathon and now am going to do 3-4 days of running outside, and a few days inside along with yoga.
Hi there! I haven't noticed any other AZ runners either. I'm definately having a difficult time getting my runs in this summer... its HOT and I'm not one who likes to get up before the sun... any tips?

Utah Valley Marathon. Not sure at this point if they have a system in place for tracking on-line. I asked them and they said they were working on it. Will let you know via Facebook if so. Thanks so much. Was so tired this AM from working this weekend that I didn't run. Was going to do about 4.5 mi today, and Thursday but may just do same tomorrow and Thurs and be done with it. Feel guilty for not going today though.
