Default what does it take?

I'm new here, what does it take to become a marathon maniac?. I've run 65 marathons and ultas so far. I only do 4-5 a year though now.

you probably qualify and didn't even know it.
here's their website with criteria - there are different levels of 'maniac-dom' depending on how many marathons and how close together they are in time.
I'm not a MM, but have quite a few friends that are.

Default I am

I am. But how do people get the numbers? are they assigned by the website?

Currently have only two more ultras this year, also a modified double of the Grand Canyon (2 days 45 miles), plus 10 days of hiking in the Alps

you know, I'm not entirely sure on all that, but I think once you "apply" for MM status, with your proof of qualifying races, you just get assigned the next number that is available (by numerical order)

looks like this might be the link you need to contact the guy in charge of this and get the ball rolling.
