Talking Biggest Decision made......

ive made the biggest decision in my running career (apart form to start running ) im going to fly interstate to run an incredibly unique marathon.

Solar Eclipse Marathon | Port Douglas, Australia | November 14, 2012

i stole the link off of the FB page to check it out....god im glad i did.

The Solar Eclipse Marathon is being held on November 14 2012.
its a long time away but this works in my favour, i have time to train, ill be finished my degree AND because its so far away i know ill be ready.

i just have to convince my dad i can do it....or he wont pay. thats my dad for ya but hey in 2 years i might have the money. just to be sentimental i think i might make this my first official marathon, ever since i started running ive been wanting to get a tattoo for my first marathon and this is the perfect unique opportunity for a perfect and unique tattoo.....

im so pumped!!!!!

That sound very cool I hope you get to it! If you live wiht your Dad, start tacking info to the fridge and in other spots to get him to start thinking your serious. maybe you could pin up your training plan and start asking him for advice on small things such as where your could find a running raute that mimiced the race raute in altitude and hills if there are some. Get him involved and he may come around to your way of thinking.

But he loves you and it would be something that you could do together. sort of a common ground. planning and strategy can pull people together, and may make it easier for him to open up to you on a personal level with out the touchy feely girl emotions that guys can't haddle. He may get more excited then you about your races. Just try to include him as much as you can even inviting him to the race. It will be good for you as well, to have someone to be there for you at the finish line.

i think he's just amazed im planning for something so far in the future. dads always thought im a bit flakey....and i am when it comes to things i dont care about. me and dad have a real odd relationship - we truley are like brother and sister...who are 10 years old- CONSTANT teasing and name calling, people think we hate each other but thats like, completely the opposite. loll. and i know ill always have someone on the finish line, my boyfriend is like super support netwrok, plus i know mum and dad would come to as many as they could....im getting really exited, especially with last night - i ran for 1.5 km consistantly and without stopping AND it was my PB

unfortunatly i dont think im going to be able to do this marathon anymore :-(the CHEAPEST i can get is $2900 for accomodation (you can only choose from ones they approve - all 4 and 5 star), $310 for marathon entry and $700 of flights - and thats just for me not even for my fiance to come with me for the minimum of 12 days, dads not prepared to pay for that and i dont have the time before the cut off date to save enough. it sucks but im still gonna be running a marathon around the same time - i will not be defeated by lack of cash!! loll
