Does anyone have suggestions for staying motivated on the last few loops?
don't go inside unless you need too...place a cooler with your stuff on the curb and go to that instead. tell everyone in your house that you are not there to stay...one more loop.

don't forget your goals. don't forget your BA x amillion zillion. make it a point to think of us while out there...while not there in body...there in spirit. remember that when you are done and you post your kickA miles...it is gonna be US that is cheering you on!

how was that??

have a love/hate relationship with loops. On days like to (90 degrees with 90 percent humidity) I love them. I use my kids' lunch bags to stash my gatorade at the end of my driveway and do 5 mile loops. On better running weather days I will do out and back.

I would not finish if I did loops so I do an out and back or I will plot a course around the mile roads that ends within a half mile of my home. It's usually a big square. If I'm really having a hard time getting motivated I will drive to Belle Isle or some other natural beauty and run. I am thinking about going to Machinau island or Manitou Island this summer to run the rim. I should get some hiking in as well with thise two islands. This should make it interesting and i will be excited about the change in scenery. Anything to keep myself from stopping short of the miles I plot for that day! Maybe you could have each member of you family ride bike next to you for parts of your run to keep you going!

try leaving water bottles every few miles where you'll be running.

Here is some motivation for you....... yesterday was supposed to me my 20 mile run. One of the people I run with is 70 years old guy ( been running for years) . We were supposed to do and out and back of 8.5 miles each way and then another 3 if we felt we could. So I finish then decide to go back for my running partners, since I had picked up the pace on the way back. Two miles back I find him running with a limp he had dislocated his knee, fixed it himself and finished the run!!! Now that is tuff and as if being 70 and still running marathons isn't motivation enough!
