Default My First Trail Half

June 20th

Ok so this has fast approached and my run is Sunday. This run is different than any run I've done and I've really truly only ran a few races. Marathon, half, 10k and stair race. All of which were my 1st races in each category. With this comes a little anticipation and nervousness. I haven't ran the course but studied the profile maps quite a bit. Mile 10 through 11.5 is a hill of 400 feet or so elevation gain at which the entire race will be at 6500 elevation or a little higher. This is around 2000 ft higher elevation than I am currently at. This will be a different style of running and I am not quite sure what to expect. So this will be interesting. I made a point of running some good trails a few times to get the feel but overall I have not ran trails often. With this brings excitement and nervousness. I am going to go out there and do my best and see what happens and will be watching my steps diligently. With this I am sure to gain more knowledge and experience. Truly that is all I can ask this time around. For some odd reason the night before races I always seem to get a sense of calm. It's like you go into warrior mode. Or so I call it. It's a strange thing. Anyways, I can't wait to give a race report. And I am greatful for every day that I can run.

Wish me luck! I love all the RR folks. And good luck to all this weekends racers.

No, Tahoe city. Neighboring us 30 minutes or so. It should be fun. Real small event too. Thanks
