If your legs feel tired, let them rest. You already have a 10 mile run in, you really don't need to run anything longer for a half. Plus, your marathon wasn't that long ago. This is your first half right? So whatever time you run it in will be a PR. Just go out and have fun. Plus, think of how many other people will still be sleeping away their morning in bed and you will have finished a half marathon. You will do great.

Thanks!!! Good way to look at it! It should be fun. I am going to try and squeeze one more long run in this week sometime. I love the RR group.

Default Let Down After Marathon

As mentioned it is common to have a let down or be kind of depressed after the marathon training. For us "regular folks" it is such an accomplishment. I recently learned in a seminar that you need to re-set your goals after accomplishing a goal that was set. That is so true as I have found out.

So, try to keep setting running goals that will keep you focused on the next goal and once you achieve it, move on to the next one.

Make sense?

Makes sense to me. I haven't ran a race since March 7th. Tomorrow I am running the Race for Air Climb-Stair Climb. Maybe that's what I need to get me more motivation. Then the half the next weekend. Yes Baldspartan I am one of those regular folks.

Thanks.

The wifester and I just finished our 12th Half and the butterfly's were no different for it that they were for our very 1st one 2 yr's ago. We too are just regular 'older' folks that this journey called running has grabbed a hold of and wont let go of. There is just something about the seconds ticking down to hear that horn go off and the pack starts slowly moving forward.

So dont fret the 'lack' of miles or skimping on training runs, just have a good time NEXT SUNDAY!

Thanks Wallie. I know I'll have a good time. It's so weird all the excitement and jitters for a race and once you start moving it all goes away. I am excited. Curious to see how I do in comparison to my full Marathon. It's nice doing races so I can tell where I am at and where I need to improve. Everyone tells me every race is as exciting as the 1st
