Default Thoughts on being slower...

If I lived closer, I would TOTALLY run with you! That's about my pace right now, too, and I keep getting the (albeit gentle) cold shoulder at a lot of my area running groups.

Without much luck, I have been scouring craigslist and the meetup sites - there are some folks out there, but I haven't yet managed to find any really long term running buddies.

Hang in there, stay open to groups that might be single-oriented but still welcoming to someone off-the-market. You could become an advice guru to the others while you run!

Good luck, and keep us posted on any races you'll be doing out of MI - It'd be great to meet up with you and run a race sometime...with someone our own pace!

Take care,
Jennifer

You said it girl! Although I'm faster since the day I posted this I am still running slow. Usually 5.3-5.6mph. My long runs start out at 5.6 but get progressively slower after the 6th mile. By the time I finish a 12 mile run it averages out to 4.8-5.0mph. Thanks for the throwing the luck my way I will need it!
