Default Week 1 of my First Half Marathon

So yesterday finished week 1 . Logged over 20 miles. On Sunday -my long run day- was supposed to do 5-7 miles. Woke up tired and wasn't sure I was going to accomplish my goal. It was raining so i waited , rain stopped and started running, around mile 3 started raining again, that helped, wasn't too humid around 77F, I usually have some routes 3+ miles, 5 miles, 6+ miles, but i felt so good around mile 5 that i decided to extend my route. Finished doing 8.24 miles and I think i could have gone 3 more miles !!! Felt great but don't know if the rain had much to do with it. Is it a valid number those 8+ miles even with that rain? Anyway I wish i could feel like yesterday on race day.

I love running in the rain; there is something about it that always makes me feel like I could run forever. Maybe it's the smell.

Good job on your first week! I was really struggling with my training, so I took 5 days off and started up again this morning. Just went 3 miles and then 2 hours of horseback riding!

To be honest I usually don't run in the rain. But after yesterday I might do it more frequently lol. What are you training for Emily?

Well, I have a 10K in September and then the first part of October I am going to run the Grand Canyon rim to rim, but I might do that in September, depending on the weather. Sometime in there (Oct/Nov) I am planning on a marathon or a half. I ran the Phoenix Rock N Roll marathon last January and really liked it, so I might do that again. I'm like a boyscout - always prepared!
