Default Summer racing season... multiple 5K races.

Hi everybody... I'm new to the boards and looking for some advice.

My question is this... I signed up for a series of 8 races, most of them are 5k. The races are held every Monday night starting June 13th, excluding Monday July 4th. My current training program (from runnersworld.com) is something like this:

Tues: 6 miles easy (10:01 pace)
Wednesday: 5 miles easy (10:01 pace)
Thursday: 4x1600 intervals at 7:59 pace with 800m jogs in between plus warmup and cooldown. 7 miles total.
Friday 5 miles easy (10:01 pace)
Sunday: 14 miles (10:01 pace)
______________________
Total: 37 miles

Thursday alternates between repeats and tempo runs.

So now with a race pretty much every week what changes do I need to make to my schedule?

I would modify your Tuesday schedule and leave it open as either a rest day, cross train, or a shorter distance, depending on how you feel. Also, the day before a race, either rest or do a light run.

Yeah, I have my long run on Sunday right now... so do I shift that to Saturday or should I move it further away from race day?

I would do it Friday if you could, but if not, then Saturday should be OK provided you rest on Sunday.
