I am sad to report that I was unable to run the race today. Life conspired against me and by the time all the fires (figurative fires) were put out there was no where near enough time to drive the hour to Ft. Worth and get checked in before the 7 am start time.

I am on the look out for a new 10K. I was nervous, cause I've never run that far before, but really excited to give it a try.

there are races every weekend, try again soon! find one close to you and just go for it, even if you register the day of race. Everyone has close calls or has had to miss a race.
You probably dont want to cut it close time wise arriving at your first race anyway. you will want some time to take it all in and try to calm the nerves a little bit. arriving late would not have helped the nerves.

Thanks for the support, guys! I was really bumed when I realized there was no way I could get across town in time. Plus, having to keep explaining it to people all weekend....

I've alreayd got another 5k scheduled and am going to ask my running coach if there are any good 10ks a little closer I could sign up for!

Default DFW Calendar

CH,
Run On! has the best listing of runs in the area. They are by month thru the end of the year.
